Mystery Ranch has been making packs for some time now. Hunting packs, Expedition packs, Fire and Rescue pack, and climbing and Day packs, just to name a few. They seem to be a little on the heavy side, but with that you have an almost heirloom quality item. I am leaving in mid June for a 5-6 day hike from outside of Denver to Aspen. I might just pay a little more on the front end to put my mind at ease through the journey, I will not have to carry a roll of duct tape for back pack repairs.
They also have a great blog from their fans and employees. The latest one is the link above. It is about a Doctor volunteering in Nepal at the Mt.Everest base camp.
