Finally SBD
I took a management buck this year, finally! The Sitka Gear (opti fade) worked flawlessly; warm, quiet, and kept the deer guessing. My unlucky streak has ended.

2009 Buck, a little to close for comfort
This was a curious buck down at Trey and Kelly's last year.
Custom Flip Camera
So I had a lot of fun this weekend with a friend filming him shooting cows with a sling shot, to shoo them away from our blind. I will try to post the video later on this week. We used his flip camera. It was operated great and it is compact enough to take anywhere. I jumped on their site and made one for my self. If anyone wants to buy me one for testing just let me know.

I cant wait for Bow Season
I have done a lot of work on the lease this summer. It all comes down to opening weekend! My friend and I built an elevated stand for my pop-up blind and installed it a month ago. It is a 6'x6' platform raised 4' off of the ground. We used pressure-treated wood, and then we did the best we could in the field with painting it. The blind has been sitting out for a while in the elements, so Tonight i will know if it is OK or not. The more you sweat, and the more dirt that gets under your nail, the better you feel. I hope everyone has a great start to the season, and is safe out there.

Screw MINI TRUCKS! GO PINZGAUER!
I have fully changed my mind about Mini trucks. They are nice to have, but they are seriously lacking in the open air department. That is why i have fully invested my time for a new vehicle to replace my defender 90, into looking for a good new Pinzgauer project. Air cooled engine, fully independent suspension, locking difs, Swiss engineering, massive ground clearance, and a blank canvass to start to build a work of art.

WOW, just WOW.
I am blown away! the Mathews McPherson Safari Monster. Taken back, not just from the price tag of $2100.00. The rumors are that it will only be available in a 75-85 lbs. draw weight. The honey comb design is there to promote rigidity through the riser and cams and reduce the weight. Heck i think i had a water ski back in '92 that used this, but in graphite. The Archery industry is so far behind all of the other markets as far as technology. Ex: porcelain baseball bats. I do really want one!

MINI TRUCK!!!
This Hi-Jet Japanese mini truck has to be my next great purchase! These things are great. Heat, A/C, and you can roll up the windows. They are also about 1/2 the price of a Polaris Ranger even all rigged out like the one above. They have push button 4 wheel drive, and are powered by a 660cc 4 stroke engine. The only mods on the one above are a 3'' lift, new ATV tires and rims, and a camouflage skin paint job.
Monster Review
I did a little review of the Bowtech 350 destroyer a few months ago when i shot it, but there seemed to be something lacking with it. So i continued looking around to shoot some more speed bows. (i also shot the Hoyt Alphamax, and the PSE Axe 6) Then I went back to the 2009 release from Mathews. The Monster 6.0 shot wonderfully. It was quiet, no vibration (unlike the others), and it was just as fast. So that was my decision, and I am so happy with it!

Backcountry Bowhunting - Archery Tools
This is a great tool for doing calculations for a new bow, or to see what kind of kinetic energy you will be delivering to the target.

Mystery Ranch Packs
http://www.mysteryrants.com/2010/04/23-days-of-living-out-of-the-mystery-ranch-g-6000-in-the-khumbu-valley-of-nepal/
Mystery Ranch has been making packs for some time now. Hunting packs, Expedition packs, Fire and Rescue pack, and climbing and Day packs, just to name a few. They seem to be a little on the heavy side, but with that you have an almost heirloom quality item. I am leaving in mid June for a 5-6 day hike from outside of Denver to Aspen. I might just pay a little more on the front end to put my mind at ease through the journey, I will not have to carry a roll of duct tape for back pack repairs.
They also have a great blog from their fans and employees. The latest one is the link above. It is about a Doctor volunteering in Nepal at the Mt.Everest base camp.

Bowtech Destroyer 340-350
I was so excited with the addition of this bow for Bowtech. It might actually get me to switch from my Mathew's Switchback. I love the flex guard roller idea. It is supposed to eliminate torque on the arrow when you are shooting it. I have a problem with torquing about 1 out of every 4 arrows. This causes me to miss about 3 inches to the left of where i was aiming.

SWFA
SWFA is a great place to purchase new optics. From Spotting scopes to Rifle scopes, they also have a trade in program. You can buy used and inspected by them on the sample list. So you say that you need a like new US Optics SN-3, sure they have one in stock. You are not going to wait 6 months for US Optics to built it, and its only $1900! Compared to the $2300 base price.

Dimigod's Longrange shooting
http://demigodllc.com/articles/practical-long-range-rifle-shooting-equipment
Dimigod's practical long range shooting guide is by far the best how to, and equipment review I have ever seen. He takes the time to discuss everything from Mil-ing to optic selection, and more. He gets involved with discussing the physics in bullet coefficient, but stays simple for new enthusiasts.

A great write up about smithing your own precision Ar-10 or SR- 25. He is going through a step by step assembly, and detailed description of tools needed. Gas guns are really catching on these days. I was playing around with the idea of building one a few months ago from the ground up, I still might have the bug to do it.
